Prepare Yourself for Jesus Is Coming Swiftly

The Millennium of Rest: A Perspective from 2 Peter 3:8

"Remember this, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." This statement invites us to explore the concept of time from a divine perspective. Imagine a week spread over 7,000 years, consisting of six millennia of human turmoil followed by a thousand-year Sabbath, a period of divine rest and reflection.

Deciphering the 120 Jubilee Years

Genesis 6:3 hints at humanity's time on earth: "My spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years." Beyond its surface meaning, this passage suggests a timeline of 120 Jubilee Years, each spanning 50 years, culminating in 6,000 years. This timeline anticipates the dawn of a new era under Jesus Christ's reign, with Jerusalem as the epicenter of divine governance.

Recognizing Our Season

While the exact moment of Christ's return remains a mystery, the Bible equips us with the wisdom to discern the spiritual season we inhabit. By tracing biblical events and their connections, we gain insights into the divine timeline, focusing on jubilees and significant moments that align with our modern calendar.

The Significance of Jubilee Years

The Jubilee Years Cycle was an important phenomenon between 2000 and 4000 AH. It signified that God was leading his people and was merciful. Every 7 years was a Sabbatical year in which no work was to be done. The 50th year was a very important year as this was the year where property had to be restored to the original owner and slaves were set free. There are two main methods to calculate with Jubilee years:

  • 49 year cycle (7 x 7); the 50th year would be the first year of the next cycle
  • 50 year cycle (7 x 7 + 1)

We adopt the 50 year cycle for the reason that the 50th year is supposed to be a year of rest and restoration, whereas the first year of the next cycle was a year to work, which is not possible in a 49 year cycle:

Leviticus 25:8-10 - "And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family."

You will find that this 50 year cycle will gives some very important events to fall on Jubilee Years. The most significant is the Exodus, which was in the 50th Jubilee Year in 2500 AH and in which the people of Israel were set free from bondage and slavery.

The timeline is very easy to follow as all Biblical references are given, so we encourage you to follow the trail yourself.

Connecting the Biblical Timeline to Our Gregorian Calendar

In order to know how far we are on the Biblical calendar we have connect our modern Gregorian Calendar to the Anno Hominis Calendar we use on this site. In order to make this important connection, we have to build the structure:

  • Luke 3:1 - "Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,". Historians assume that this must be in the timeframe between 26-36 AD, which we can safely assume to be correct timeframe which we will narrow down further in the next steps.
  • We know that Jesus was dead for 3 days and 3 nights: Matthew 12:40 - "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
  • We know that every new day in the Bible starts at 6PM, so around sundown.
  • We know that Jesus died at the Jewish 9th hour (Matthew 27:46 - "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"), which was the Roman 3rd hour, which is our 3PM.
  • We know that the women visiting the grave where going there after Sabbath, so after our Saturday on the next morning, so this is Sunday: Mark 16:1,2 - "And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.". According the Law of Moses, the women could not go to the grave to perform the balming, so they had to wait until the day after Sabbath. However, because the new day started at sundown (on our Saturday evening), it would have been dangerous to travel and unpractical to perform the balming. Therefor they went on the Sunday morning.
  • If we then count back, Jesus must have died on a Wednesday!
  • We know that Jesus died at passover: Mark 14:16-18 - "And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.". Remember that the day starts in the evening, which is our Tuesday. He dies on the Wednesday, which was still passover.
  • We know that Passover was in the month Nisan according Leviticus 23:5 - "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.". So Jesus died on 14 Nissan.
  • We also should note that the day after was called 'High Sabbath': John 19:31 - "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.". This is confirmed in Leviticus 23: 5,6 - "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.". This is the confusion as to why many think that Jesus died on a Friday and we remember 'Good Friday', thinking He died the day before the weekly Sabbath. People who believe this will come up with the year 33, as that was the year where Nisan 14 fell on a Friday.
  • We now can determine on which year Nissan 14 fell on a Wednesday in the years 26-36 AD, by using a converter as can be found here. We find 2 years where 14 Nissan was on a Wednesday: the year 27 and the year 30.
  • The year 27 would be too early as at that time John the Baptist is still alive according various sources like Wikipedia.
  • Therefore we come to the conclusion that Jesus died on 3 April 30, which was 14 Nisan 3996 AH.

We use this reference point in the full calendar. Please remember that the year '0' doesn't exist.

Birth Adam
1 AH
3966 BC

Gen 2:7 – “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

  • Note 1: In modern-day counting, a child’s age is considered to be 0 at birth. However, in the Bible, a child is counted as being in his 1st year immediately after birth.
  • Note 2: We use the Anno Hominis counting, which starts at the birth of Adam.
Birth Seth
130 AH
3837 BC

Gen 5:3 – “And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.”

  • Note: Since it is unclear whether Seth was born in the first or second half of his father’s year, we statistically compensate for this uncertainty by subtracting half a year. We do this for all pre-flood patriarchs, which will statistically give us the best results. In the case of Seth we calculate with 129.5 AH. For displaying purposes, we will show full years.
Birth Enos
234 AH
3733 BC

Gen 5:6 – “And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:”

129.5 + 104.5 = 234.0 AH.

Birth Cainan
324 AH
3643 BC

Gen 5:9 – “And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:”

234.0 + 89.5 = 323.5 AH.

Birth Mahalaleel
393 AH
3574 BC

Gen 5:12 – “And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:”

323.5 + 69.5 = 393.0 AH.

Birth Jared
458 AH
3509 BC

Gen 5:15 – “And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:”

393.0 + 64.5 = 457.5 AH.

Birth Enoch
619 AH
3348 BC

Gen 5:18 – “And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:”

457.5 + 161.5 = 619.0 AH.

Birth Methuselah
684 AH
3283BC

Gen 5:21 – “And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:”

619.0 + 64.5 = 683.5 AH.

Birth Lamech
870 AH

Gen 5:25 – “And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:”

683.5 + 186.5 = 870.0 AH.

Birth Noah
1052 AH
2915 BC

Gen 5:28-29a – “And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: And he called his name Noah,”

870.0 + 181.5 = 1051.5 AH.

The Beginning of the Great Flood
1651 AH
2316 BC

Gen 7:11 – “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.”

1051.5 + 599.5 = 1651.0 AH.

The End of the Great Flood
1652 AH
2315 BC

Gen 8:13 – “And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from of the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.”

1651.0 + 1 = 1652,0, for it was a full year.

Birth Arphaxad
1654 AH
2313 BC

Gen 11:10 – “These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:”

1652.0 + 1.5 = 1653.5 AH.

Birth Salah
1688 AH

1967 BC

Gen 11:32 – “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”

Acts 7:4 – “Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.”

Gen 12:4 – “So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”

1870.0 + 204.5 – 74.5 = 2000 AH.

  • Note: Terah was 204.5 – 74.5 = 130 when Abram was born.
Birth Isaac in a Jubilee Year
Birth Isaac in a Jubilee Year

Gen 21:5 – “And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.”

2000 + 100 = 2100.0 AH.

Exodus Out of Egypt in the Jubilee Year of Jubilee Years (50 X 50)
Exodus Out of Egypt in the Jubilee Year of Jubilee Years (50 X 50)
2500 AH
1467 BC

Genesis 15:13 – “And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;”

Acts 7:6 – “And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.”

Abrams offspring starts with the birth of Isaac, who was born in 2100 AH. We have to count 400 full years for the Exodus to happen: 2100 + 400.0 = 2500 AH.

  • Note: Isaac was 60 years when Jacob was born (Genesis 25:26b – “and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.”). Jacob was 130 years when he arrived in Egypt (Genesis 47:9 – “And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”). So the people of Israel stayed in Egypt for: 400 – 60 – 130 = 210 years.
Start Building the Temple & Solomon = 4 Years in Power
2980 AH

1 Kings 6:1 – “And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.”

2500 + 480 = 2980 AH

Finished Construction of the Temple & God’s Threat to Solomon in a Jubilee Year
Finished Construction of the Temple & God’s Threat to Solomon in a Jubilee Year
3000 AH
967 BC

1 Kings 9:10 – “And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king’s house,”

Here we calculate with 20 full years as it is mentioned it was the end of these years: 2980 + 20 = 3000 AH.

We also should mention that God warned Salomon in the prior verses that his sin would lead to destruction. God never does anything without saying, as to give people a chance to repent:

1 Kings 9:6,7 – “But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:”

Later when Israel was cut off from the land, we take this as reference in our counting.

Prophesy of Ezekiel’s Siege Against Jerusalem
3430 AH
537 BC

Ezekiel had to lay a (mini) siege against Jerusalem and had to lay on his left side for 390 days:

Ezk 4:5 – “For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.”

and on his right side for 40 days:

Ezk 4:6 – “And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.”

Together this made up 430 years, counting from the year that Solomon was threatened by God that his sin would lead to destruction.

390 + 40 = 430 years: 3000 + 430 = 3430 AH.

70 Years of Desolation Before the Decree to Rebuild Jerusalem (In a Jubilee Year) by Cyrus
70 Years of Desolation Before the Decree to Rebuild Jerusalem (In a Jubilee Year) by Cyrus
3500 AH
467 BC

Counting from Ezekiel Siege: 3430 + 70 = 3500.

Alternative count: the 70 years of desolation were to compensate for the normal Jubilee Years in the past period:

2 Chronicles 36:21 – “To fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfill threescore and ten years.”

These 70 years contain 10 Sabbatical Years where this rule should be expected under normal obedience. This means that we have 70-10=60 Sabbatical Years left for compensation of the past years.

We have 7 normal Sabbatical Years in each Jubilee Cycle, so 60/7 = 8,57 Jubilee Cycles, which comprises 8.57 * 50 = 428,57 years, which encompasses exactly 60 Sabbatical Years counting from the year 3000 where God had threatened Salomon to not sin!

These 70 Sabbatical Years, including Jubilee Years make up 500 years. We now have 2 routes leading to the same year.

The First 7 Weeks of Years of Daniel (=1 Jubilee Cycle)
The First 7 Weeks of Years of Daniel (=1 Jubilee Cycle)

Dan 9:24,25a – “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, …”

This is one Jubilee Year = 3500 + 50 = 3550 AH.

Followed by Daniels 62 Weeks of Years
3992 AH
25 AD

Dan 9:25b – “… and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”

This is the beginning of Jesus’ 3.5 years ministry.

62 * 49 + 8 = 422 years: 3550 + 422 = 3992 AH.

  • Note 1: Jesus was about 30 years when He was baptized, so we can calculate the approximate year of His birth: Luke 3: 23 – “And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,”. If we consider the word ‘about’ as uncertainty we can build in an error margin of + or – 1 year, which would be between 3961 AB (-6 BC) and 3963 AH (-4 BC).
  • Note 2: Some translations like Etheridge translated from Aramaic renders: “NOW Jeshu himself was as a son of thirty years, and was considered the son of Jauseph bar Heli,”, which would mean 3962 AH (= -5 BC) would be a reasonable assumption.

While many think that the last week of Daniel is still to come and talks about the antichrist, if you read it carefully you will discover that this is spoken of about Jesus Christ Himself, as words ‘confirm the covenant’ indicate When Christ died after 3.5 years of ministry which started with the baptizing in the Jordan, He caused the sacrifice in the Temple to cease, which was marked by the renting of the veil of the Holy of Holies.

Daniel 9:27 “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”.

3992 + 3.5 = 3995.5 AH.

The overspreading of abominations, we believe, talks about the rejection of St. Stephen in 3999AH, after which the Gospel is ‘poured’ on the desolate, rest of the world: Daniel 9:27 “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

3995.5 + 3.5 = 3999 AH.

This now marks the end of an era. The next era starts in 4000AH where we see St. Paul bringing the Gospel to the rest of the world.
